I love my home and I am house proud but keeping things tidy is not one of my strengths. House work is an ongoing challenge for me. I felt it would be a good idea to face the New Year with a tidy home and embrace my my New Year's resolution of ' no excuses' so, I decided to spend a few days sorting things out. " Put away, give away or throw away" was my mantra. I have managed to sort out half the house so far and will continue with the rest of it over the school holidays. I already feel so much better for having spent some time getting things in order. Although it is pretty boring way to start the New Year, it an immensely satisfying one. I wonder how long the tidy home will last though...? Here are some of my Instagram shots, tracking my progress.
I recently had the pleasure of a photographer and a journalist being in my home for an upcoming article (which I will post about once published). This gave me a great excuse for updating a few items in my home, spending hours styling it and putting out lots of lovely flowers. It was nice to have a pretty, clean and photo worthy home, even if only for a few hours! I took a few shots myself before it all returned to the normal mess. You can view the rest of the images on my flickr stream here or my pinterest board here.
I have a board on pinterest called, just beautiful. The images don't have a specific category but are so lovely I want to keep looking at them. Here are a few- enjoy. All links to these images can be found on my pinterest board. Link with love. Happy Friday to you all! P x
I picked up the March Elle Decoration UK (my all time favourite interiors magazine) the other day and noticed how much wonderful blue is being featured at the moment. Here are some inspiring images featuring all the beautiful shades of blue with lots of pattern and colour. Blue is such a calming colour, I wonder if I could have a deep turquoise wall somewhere in my home? Hmmm, I am going to have a serious think about it. All links to these images can be found on my pinterest board, except the first two, which are from the March issue of Elle Decoration UK.
