Renegade wrap up

Shelley and Sweet William had a great time in London at Renegade, despite the rain and 3 hour tube trips! There were loads of amazing stall holders and Sonia from Layoutlines has done a lovely post all about the market here. These are Sonja's brilliant photos of the Sweet William stall. The next market for Sweet William will be back in Melbourne at Federation Square - Markit on Sunday the 24 of November. Pop in and say Hi!

There is something about Peonies that just make me go weak at the knees... I think they are the most beautiful flower! I recently bought a big bunch for my home which led to a few instagram shots which led to another Peony illustration joining the other Sweet William Peony illustrations. I apologise, I seem to be besotted!

Busy times!

November is a big month for us at Sweet William as we gear up for lots of wonderful markets! We are super, duper excited to be part of the London Renegade Craft fair  for the very first time! Shelley will be showing our Sweet William wears on November 9 + 10, 11am-6pm Old Truman Brewery - 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL with over 100 other amazing stall holders (so wish I could be there..) Sweet William will also be at the Melbourne Design Market on Sunday November the 10th at Federation Square, in the car park. Here is a shot of my messy studio, which is were I will be spending a lot of time preparing! We love markets and love it when people pop over to say hello.

Preparing my home for a shoot

There is nothing quite like knowing your home is going to be photographed to get it all tidied up! My husband was away and I had four days notice but I really wanted to spruce up my floors  - so, off I went to Bunnings, bought some white floor board paint and re did the floors over two evening while the kids were in bed...I was very pleased with the results and amazed at how easy it was! The shoot went well with photographer Armelle Habib and stylist Heather Nette King and I now have a tidy, fresh looking home! Yay! I will post about the publication when it goes live. Here are some shots I took on the day of how it all went.

Shots of Sweet William stall set up at Finder Keepers Melbourne

Sweet William had a brilliant time at Finders Keepers Market on the weekend. My clever husband, Pete, helped me out on Saturday and took these photos of my stall set up. I was pretty pleased with the way all my pink and gold theme turned out!

Illustration work

As an illustrator it is lovely to be able to do my own work and I am very grateful that I can sell that through Sweet William. I also freelance as an illustrator and have a web site for my illustration work here. I enjoy the challenge of a client brief and being allowed to interpret a story in my own style. I was very chuffed when Elle Australia contacted me recently to do a little illustration in their brand new fashion mag! (Berry image above) I  also currently have work in Melbourne's Child and I am busy working on a very exciting cook/lifestyle book...busy times!

Brand New Paper Packs

We have brand new wonderful Paper Packs all ready to go in our etsy store.

Our love for vintage paper runs long and deep. Here at Sweet William we are endlessly rummaging through second hand book shops, markets, thrift shops, charity shops, garage sales - always on the search for beautiful old treasures that no one loves. Then we transform our finds into these exciting packages - filled to the brim with paper goodness, ready for you to make what ever you want with them - cards, scrapbooks, collage, artwork. We are passionate about these packs and love the idea of sharing our sometimes obsessive passion with other paper lovers.

Each Sweet William mixed paper pack is an intriguing collection of vintage ephemera and papers, which will include at least 25 pieces of : lovely old children's book images, postage stamps, illustrations, old playing cards, postcards, fine papers, labels, vintage wall paper, paper tags, maps and tons more. The A5 packs is backed with card, covered in cellopha…
How cute are these little paper packets we have for out little Miniature Camille Pocket doll??

Lou will have a set of Sweet William prints, called the Field Trip amongst all her finds wonderful goods.

Mad for Pastels and Gold at the moment!

Sweet William is in the process of setting up for our next big market season! It is a very busy time from now up until Christmas. We will be at the following markets:

Finders Keepers - 4th/5th October-  Melbourne
Renegade Craft Fair - 9/10th November - London
Markit@Fedsqaure - 24th November - Melbourne
Magnolia Square - 28-30 November - Melbourne
Big Design Market - 6-8 December - Melbourne

And there may be more - there is one in Ireland too (need Shelley to add her dates). We start each new market season with a brand new stall set up, which is great fun to work on. At the moment I am being very taken by the colour scheme of gold with pastels. I am loving a bit of shimmery gold set against a flat pastel colour. I have been collecting images in Pinterest and will start putting it all together soon. Here are some images from my ideas Pinterest board (all links to images in Pinterest). Enjoy!
