Work in progress

Image
Current work in progress, mostly all floral pieces. My home is full of flowers at the moment which has inspired me to paint! Flowers are a constant inspiration.

A slow start to my year.

Image
I can't believe we are already in the third month of this year, my kids are at the end of their first term at school and I just haven't found my groove for 2015 yet... I have found myself in a bit of creative slump. I know it is pretty common to have creative slumps but I haven't had one go on for quite so long...anyway I have a plan to un slump myself; I have to push myself creatively. I have taken a few on line courses through www.atly.com which have been great and I have also forced myself to get away from the computer and into my studio. I have met up with a wonderful local artist who works from her home studio and we paint together. My plan is starting to work but I need a bit more time...which seems to be running away from me. When all else fails, I go in for a bit of retail therapy, I find fresh flowers and a new cushion for my home, always manages to make me feel a little brighter! Okay so even though it's already March - here's to a great 2

Brilliant new price on A3 posters!

Image
We are super duper excited about our A3 size posters ! These are of original pen and ink drawing done by myself, Paula Mills. The A3 posters are printed on a high quality, recycled, matt paper using vegetable based inks. The actual artwork measures 420mm x 297mm.(16.5x11.7 inches) and fits perfectly into the Ikea Ribba 40x50 cm frame plus mount (as pictured in first shot). There are six designs to choose from in the poster range .  We do a bigger print run on the posters therefore we are able to offer them at a brilliant price! YAY!

We will be mixing it up again with new products, new prints and a larger stall - yay! My sister, Shelley, is coming out from NZ to help me. We are so excited - this amazing market is not to be missed! Do pop in and say hello, we always love to chat to our blog readers. P xxx

New work at Markit@Fed Square this weekend

Image
I have been wanting to put this set together for awhile now and at last it has come together just in time for Markit@Fed Square this Sunday.  These are pencil sketches of things found by me on field trips around where we live. We are fortunate to have a state park behind our house in Warrandyte, Australia. My family and I often go on beautiful walks collect and gathering things of interest. The skull, we think, is of a wallaby. This set of 4 small prints is available in our etsy shop or if you would like to see the set in person then come along to Federation Square on Sunday the 27th of May from 10am until 5pm. I am extra excited as Shelley, my sister, (and other half of Sweet Wiliam) will be with me visiting from New Zealand - yay!

Sweet William Prints in Signed and Numbered

Image
Kareena Zerefos Beth Emily Paula Mills GhostPatrol above and Cath Campbell below I am so thrilled about this! Signed and Numbered is an amazing little shop in Greville Street, Prahan that only sells art prints. I have walked past and drooled over the art in the shop before so you can imagine my thrill when I got an email from Jacqui asking if I would be interested in stocking some of my work in her shop! A customer had bought in some work to be framed and one of my prints was amongst their collection, Jacqui liked what she saw and got in touch. Yay! It feels wonderful to have my work in such a creative space surrounded by amazing work by artists that I have been following for some time, such as Kareena Zerefos , Cath Campbell, Beth Emily and Ghost Patrol to name a few. You can check out the rest of the shop online here and follow the blog here . So thrilled!

new illustration - insticnt

Image
The theme at Illustration Friday this week is 'instinct'. My thought with the peacock is that we all have our own natural instinct when it comes to attracting the opposite sex. But as I was drawing it I realised that my natural instinct is to draw pretty things...so that may have been the real reason for the peacock :)
