Paula Mills Art

I am so excited to be part of this collaboration with Mathew from Zaishu and The Big Design Market . For Zaishu's ten year anniversary they have partnered with Melbourne artists to make up limited edition artisan stools to be sold exclusively at the Big Design Market in December. The artists involved are: Bridget Bodenham, Beth Emily, Stefan Gevers, Emily Green, Rowena Martinich and myself - Paula Mills. Thrilled!

I recently had the pleasure of a photographer and a journalist being in my home for an upcoming article (which I will post about once published). This gave me a great excuse for updating a few items in my home, spending hours styling it and putting out lots of lovely flowers. It was nice to have a pretty, clean and photo worthy home, even if only for a few hours! I took a few shots myself before it all returned to the normal mess. I picked up the March Elle Decoration UK (my all time favourite interiors magazine) the other day and noticed how much wonderful blue is being featured at the moment. Here are some inspiring images featuring all the beautiful shades of blue with lots of pattern and colour. Blue is such a calming colour, I wonder if I could have a deep turquoise wall somewhere in my home? Hmmm, I am going to have a serious think about it. Sometimes we just have to look at every day things for inspiration.We all have many objects around our homes that are same, same but different. This is an illustration I did entitled 'similar' of the various chairs from around my home. This print is available to buy in our etsy shop. Do everyday things inspire you in any way? What are they?
