Christmas Markets

Image
Sweet William Stall set up for Christmas Markets Well it has been busy, busy, busy here in Sweet William land! Today I am setting up for 2 wonderful markets in Melbourne. Unfortunately Shelley (my sister) couldn't join me this time but I have roped in a lovely friend (Louise) who will be helping out with the Sweet William stall at Magnolia Square while I am at the BIg Design Market in Carlton. I always try and do some new work for the markets and this new piece is entitled Pink Poppies - a soft water colour and ink study of a beautiful bunch of poppies I had on my kitchen bench a little while ago.  This will be available to sell for the first time (in the new A3 plus size!) at both of these events. Do pop in and say hello, I love to her from blog readers. Ok the next few days are going to be kinda crazy and I am sure lots of fun!

Celebrating the Peony Rose

Image
Peony by Paula Mills for Sweet William Painted Peony by Paula Mills for Sweet William My all time favourite flower is the Peony. When I see one, I have to stop and take it in. The volouptuouse form, the softness, the fullness, the delicate colours, the wonderfulness of these flowers! I am so taken by these flowers that I have tried to capture them on paper on quiet a few occasions and I think it is some thing I will keep on drawing. Here are some shots of a bunch of soft pink Peonies I had at home and two illustrations I have done, both available in our etsy shop as prints.

Simple black and white doodles

I love pattern and colour but I also love the simplicity of a black line on a white page. Here are some little sketches from my black and white folder. The home sweet home sketch is available as a print here

Happy Kites

Kites always make me smile - here are four pretty kites soaring above our heads. This print is available in our etsy shop.

New Prints now available in our etsy shop

' The Gift ' by Paula Mills for Sweet William This drawing entitled ' the gift ' has been sitting with me for a while now.  There is so much we do with our hands - touch, give, make, feel, comfort, reassure, communicate, work, applaud, our hands can be gifts. At last I managed to get the image down on to paper and now it is available to buy as a print from our Etsy shop. It is a fairly new colour palette for me but I am quite pleased with the way the fresh green has turned out. I also revisited ' earth laughs in flowers ' with some pretty colours. Now available in our etsy shop here .

Hello hello! Gosh can you believe we are heading towards the  end of the year and Christmas already? We love giving gifts and coming up with creative ways for wrapping gifts. That is why we have listed these pretty tags in our Etsy shop . They are digital downloads for your own personal use. For best results print onto thick matte craft paper (Canon do a great Matte Photo Paper in 170g/m), cut out with craft knife, round corners if you have a corner cutter and finally use a single hole punch to make a whole for your own pretty ribbon. Because we love gift giving so much we thought we would do a little give away! Simply leave a comment on our blog and you could be in line for receiving any 2 digital downloads for free! Giveaway open until Friday the 2nd November. UPDATE:  Congratulations - Two Cheecky Monkeys is the winner of our tag downloads!  Thank you all for playing and we wish we could have sent you all our new tags you are such a love...

Finders Keepers wrap up

Image
Wow Shelley and I had a fantastic weekend! Finders Keepers was brilliant, as always. Sweet William had a bigger stall this time so we had a few frantic days before hand trying to pull the set up together and we were very pleased with the results! We had new work and new A3 prints (which I will blog about another time)! Thanks to all the lovely people who come around to say hello and buy Sweet William prints, we had an excellent show. It was so lovely to see my sister again, we laughed so much we cried a lot, we talked, worked, ate, drank tea, laughed some more and spent a wonderfully relaxing day at the hot springs, on Sunday soothing our feet after all the hard work. Here are some shots, taken by husband, of Shelley and I at Finders Keepers.

We will be mixing it up again with new products, new prints and a larger stall - yay! My sister, Shelley, is coming out from NZ to help me. We are so excited - this amazing market is not to be missed! Do pop in and say hello, we always love to chat to our blog readers. P xxx
